One of the largest halal grocery stores in the Shin-Okubo area, on the 2nd floor of the Lions Mansion building about a 2-3 minute walk from Shin-Okubo Station. Sells fresh halal meat (beef, mutton, chicken) plus Indian and Pakistani staples such as basmati rice, atta, ghee and Shan/MDH spices, along with halal ready-to-eat food and handmade South Asian sweets.
Eating in Tokyo
Tokyo's South Asian food is dominated by a specific format: a Nepali-run kitchen serving a largely North Indian menu, built around a weekday lunch set of curry, enormous naan and a small salad. It is so consistent that it is effectively its own genre. Underneath it sits a smaller, more interesting layer of genuinely Nepali cooking, and a handful of serious regional Indian restaurants.
