These keep the site working and cannot be switched off. Without them you could not stay signed in, and we could not protect forms against cross-site request forgery.

Analytics
Set by Google Analytics 4 when you allow analytics storage. They tell us which pages are read and where people give up, in aggregate. They are not set at all until you consent.
Advertising
Set by Google AdSense and its partners when you allow advertising storage. They select ads, cap how often you see the same one, and measure whether an ad worked. Until you allow them, ads are requested in non-personalised form, which still uses a limited identifier for frequency capping and fraud prevention.
You can also turn off ad personalisation across all Google products at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of many other vendors at aboutads.info.
Managing cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out and keep you signed out. Clearing site data also clears the choice you made above, and you will be asked again.
